Dental Waste Containers

Dental practices generate several distinct waste streams, and each one has to be segregated at the chairside rather than sorted out later. This range covers the containers a UK practice needs to do that: waste amalgam, waste amalgam capsules, extracted teeth with amalgam fillings, bridges and crowns, lead foil, sludge from traps, filters and collection cups, gypsum, and spent radiographic fixer and developer.

Every amalgam-bearing container in the range holds a sponge impregnated with Mercshel™, our own mercury vapour suppressant. It binds mercury particles too small to see, keeps them from becoming airborne, and carries a biocide that destroys bacteria, viruses and fungi. The containers are rigid, opaque and both air and water tight, so a full jar can stand in the surgery until collection without releasing vapour into the room. The sponges are also sold separately if you would rather use them in jars you already hold.

Choose the size by how quickly the stream fills. Toothboxes, bridges and crowns containers and waste amalgam containers start at 500ml for a single surgery and run to 6 litres for a busy multi-chair practice; capsule containers go up to 10 litres. Sludge drums are 6 litres, lead foil 2 litres, fixer and developer 10 litres each, and gypsum waste 25 litres. Practice managers ordering for several sites usually mix sizes across the streams rather than standardising on one.
