Blood, urine, faeces and vomit have to be dealt with quickly, and mopping spreads the problem rather than removing it. This powder solidifies a liquid spill so that it can be lifted in one piece. Sprinkle it over the spillage, leave it for one to two minutes until it turns to a gel, then lift the gel with a scoop and dispose of it in line with your local waste policy. Appropriate PPE should be worn.

The active ingredient does three jobs at once: it absorbs the liquid, neutralises it and deodorises what is left, so the area is not simply covered over. It works on food and drink spillages as well as body fluids, which is why the same tub tends to get used for both. Buyers are typically schools and colleges, care homes, hotels, doctors surgeries, and taxi and coach operators, all of whom need something a member of staff can use safely without training in chemical handling.

Two sizes are available. The 1 litre tub suits a single vehicle, reception desk or classroom spill kit, and is the size most sites hold as standard. The 5 litre tub is for central stores, a care home housekeeping trolley, or anywhere spills are frequent enough that refilling small tubs becomes the chore.
